Veteran’s Day Best Bets!
It’s hard to pick out the best music acts for this Veterans’s Day Weekend, but we’ll try to point out some good ones to see this weekend. In the West Palm area. Respectable Street gets our vote for the place to be FRIDAY evening, for a fundraiser Phoenix Mission Charity Show & Burlesque show with 9 bands! Lake Worth Friday night is a big one with FLOYD – A Tribute in concert at the Duncan Theatre, Uproot Hootenanny at Son’s and Daughter’s Winery, and the Holidazed playing at the Rhum Shak!
Saturday’s big event will be the Taste of Soul Food and Music Festival! This concert at the Meyer Amphitheater to benefit Puerto Rico will feature artists such as Chemradery, Brian McKnight, Tito Puente Jr., Brenda K. Starr, The People Upstairs, J Sharp Band, JBellTheArtist, Sito Rocks, Vela, King Docious, Ricky C and Erik O’Neill. Admission is only $10!
Saturday night in WPB has Wonderama putting on a show at CityPlace and the The Silent Shout upstairs at Copper Blues. Lake Worth highlights include Victoria Cardona at CWS, Bruja at the Rhum Shak, and John Smotherman at Rudy’s. Wellington has two Tribute bands to choose from – Thunderjack (AC/DC) at the Wellington Amphitheater, or Roll the Stones (Rolling Stones) at Suri West!
Palm Beach County must be the Tribute Band Capital – maybe because the Boomers and Snowbirds love them? It all started with Elvis impersonators in the mid 50’s, but now they’re all over the place. This weekend is no exception with Chain Reaction, a tribute to Journey playing at Suri West in Wellington. Net week they’s have Roll the Stones – a Rolling Stones tribute, the Wellington Amphitheatre will have Thunderjack, an AC/DC tribute band playing, and George Orr and the Hot Rod Band – a Rod Stewart look-and-sound alike will be back at Benny’s on the Beach in Lake Worth. Go check them out!

The Days Between
Grateful Dead fans know that August 1 to August 9 is known as “The Days Between” – since Jerry Garcia was born on August 1 and died August 9. Goodbye Bowery LIVE . . .
CityPlace lost another Live Music venue as Bowery LIVE has closed. Wow, this place is just jinxed or something! Bowery LIVE only lasted about 6 months; before that it was Lafayette’s, and then BB King’s before that. We’re sorry to see it go so soon.
Mango Festival in Northwood!
It’s Mango Season in South Florida, and time for the Northwood Mango Heritage Festival once again on Saturday! The theme this year is . . . can you guess? . . . . that’s right . . . is Mangos!
